My Story
I am a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor, working with people going through challenging times in their lives.
I have an integrative style which allows me to draw from a toolbox of different therapeutic techniques to suit each individual client.
I have worked with children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of issues including domestic abuse, complex trauma, anxiety and depression, self-harming, work-related issues, bereavement and loss, and sexual abuse.
The focus of our work will be on helping you to understand yourself better and find more constructive ways to deal with the important issues or relationships in your life, in a safe non-judgemental environment.
I utilize a toolbox of therapeutic approaches in order to specifically tailor my approach to a clients' individual needs.
Psychotherapy and counselling help when a person is struggling with life, relationships, work related issues or with more specific mental health concerns that can cause a great deal of psychological pain and last for long periods of time.
Effective treatment can result in meaningful and lasting changes. I use different therapeutic tools such as hypnosis, CBT, genogram, somatic therapy, mindfulness, person-centred to help a person gain insight and understanding of the influence of their struggles in life and their past experiences on present behaviour and life choices.
For example, when dealing with clients with stress and anxiety I rely on techniques such as mindfulness to ground them and turn the focus to the here and now, so it can alleviate some of the symptoms of distress and anxiety.
With the use of Defusing techniques, I help clients to stop, step back and observe the thoughts and feelings. I adapt to the clients' needs, one approach might not work for everyone, we are unique individuals.
Here is a brief summary of what I feel is important for you to know about me. I started this career as I wanted to make a real difference in people's live.
For that reason, I keep developing myself in the field of psychological therapies and more.
I completed my MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapist with a humanistic approach.
I qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, that incorporates CBT and ACT approaches.
I leverage those approaches to help my clients deal with stress, anxiety, PTSD, depression.
I graduated from City University with a Bachelor in Psychology with counselling and health psychology.
I believe the above experience and knowledge I have gained allows my clients to get the wholistic and integrated support they need as well as recover faster.
